IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC 2026)

With the rapid advancement of biomedical technologies, data-driven health solutions, and innovative therapeutic approaches, attention to older adults and patients with neurodegenerative diseases—such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease—has expanded far beyond traditional care. It now encompasses multiple dimensions, including clinical management, early diagnosis, rehabilitation interventions, disease monitoring, technology development, and health policy optimization.
The International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society (EMBC 2026) provides a unique platform for physicians, researchers, product developers, and professionals working in elder care and neurodegenerative diseases to gain in-depth insight into the latest achievements in biomedical engineering and explore their applications in clinical practice, rehabilitation technologies, health informatics, and innovative product development.

Sustainable Concrete Design

Participants will be exposed to cutting-edge advances in fields such as neuroengineering, rehabilitation technologies, wearable biomedical sensors, therapeutic and diagnostic systems, health informatics, and precision medicine tools. These technologies not only help improve patients’ quality of life but also support early disease detection, personalized intervention, and multidisciplinary collaboration. The conference also offers opportunities to engage face-to-face with global experts, share best practices, and explore emerging technologies and solutions that can be applied in clinical care, scientific research, and product innovation.

“Early in my career…I had to choose between honest arrogance and hypercritical humility… I deliberately choose an honest arrogance, and I’ve never been sorry”

The Asian Business and Management Program at York University, in collaboration with the conference host, the KITE Research Institute, has jointly launched the “Immersive Learning Program on Advances in Biomedical Engineering for Aging & Neurodegenerative Care.” This program is designed to provide participants from China with an in-depth understanding of Canada’s healthcare, research, and innovation landscape in aging and neurodegenerative disease care.
The program will arrange visits to hospitals, research institutions, and innovation centers in Toronto, and will host a China–Canada Innovation Forum to facilitate exchange and collaboration between participants and local Chinese Canadian scholars and experts in the field. Through site visits and interactive discussions, participants will not only learn about the latest scientific advances and technological applications, but also broaden their global perspectives, foster cross-border academic and industry collaboration, and further promote innovation and development in aging societies and rehabilitation medicine
